Pulp Fiber: Our Journey From Pulp To Product

Pulp fiber isn't just for egg cartons. We use wet and dry pressing to make sturdy or delicate tabletop pieces. Compostable, textured, no hype.

Pulp Fiber: Our Journey from Pulp to Product

When a design studio first approached us two years ago, they wanted a paper tray that didn't look or feel like paper. "No flimsy edges," they said. "And it has to hold a heavy ceramic vase without wobbling." We smiled and walked them to our dry‑pressing line.

That moment captures what we love about this work: taking pulp fiber, a material most people associate with egg cartons, and turning it into tabletop decor that earns a permanent place in someone's home. We are not just a green packaging supplier. We are problem‑solvers who happen to be obsessed with molded fiber.

Two processes, two design languages

We run two core processes, each with its own aesthetic personality:

Wet pressing creates thin‑walled, delicate forms with one smooth side and one subtly textured side. It is ideal for smaller, precise objects - coasters, shallow dishes, lightweight trays. This process handles nearly any color and allows for bolder shapes: modular panels, even sculptural centerpieces.

Dry pressing produces thicker, more structural pieces (2.0–2.5 mm typical). One side is rough, the other relatively smooth. Standard colors are clean white or warm corrugated brown. The material feels honest and quietly strong.

That design studio ended up choosing dry‑pressed trays. They have reordered three times. Why? Not because of the numbers, but because the trays brought a quiet, earthy presence to their tabletops, something between ceramic and wood, yet fully compostable.

Design philosophy: form follows footprint

Molded pulp fiber is not a substitute for plastic. It is a material with its own voice. The slight fiber flecks, the gentle warpage of a hand‑made edge, the way light scatters on its matte surface, these are not defects. They are signatures of a circular material that was once a slurry of recycled paper and will one day return to soil.

We believe that good design does not hide its origins. A paper tray should remind you that it came from a forest of fiber, not a fossil fuel. This honesty resonates with brands that value transparency, from minimalist homeware labels to zero‑waste gift box creators.

Client value beyond the product

When you partner with us, you are not just buying a custom shape. You are buying:

A material story: Each piece carries embedded narrative: recycled content, plant‑based fibers, end‑of‑life compostability. Your customers will feel that difference.

Differentiation in a crowded market: While others use plastic or foam, molded pulp decor is still rare. Being early gives you a distinctive, tactile identity.

Flexibility that respects your timeline: We keep tooling and sampling straightforward (3D preview within days, optional pulp sample for high‑stakes projects) without burying you in technical sheets.

Scalable sustainability: From a few thousand pieces to hundreds of thousands, we grow with you. No greenwashing. Just real, certified compostable packaging.

Why we wake up every day to press pulp

ecause recycled packaging should never feel like a compromise. Because a paper tray can be both fully home‑compostable and sturdy enough to hold a coffee mug. Because green decor is still a frontier, and we want to explore it, one custom mold at a time.

Our team is made of mold engineers, pulp enthusiasts, and former packaging buyers who got tired of hearing "paper is weak" or "custom shapes take forever." We have built our process to prove otherwise.

Send us your rough sketch, your STEP file, or even a photo of something you wish existed. We will help you choose the right process, suggest finishes, and walk you through a sample. No hard sell. Just pulp, pressed with purpose.
